Basic movement skills are exercised through out a ShiningStars Class. Children will walk, run, hop, skip, jump, gallop, crawl, slide, leap, and travel on all levels in all space.
Nonlocomotor skills also help with the development of movement such as bending, twisting, stretching, and turning. We use creative movement play to introduce these skills through play with purpose. These movements are the basic foundation of activities and will continue to help your child grow physically healthy with strength, balance, and coordination.

Public speaking anxiety is one of the top fears among adults. ShiningStars unique and best-in class curriculum is geared towards building and developing confidence in creative ways to help bridge the performance gap from adolescence to adulthood.
Children are outgoing because they haven't yet encountered the fear of making a mistake or being silly in front of their peers. Once this judgement begins in the school age years, public speaking anxiety can begin to dig its roots. If students are exposed to theater lessons early on, they learn not to take themselves so seriously and become more comfortable in front of a group. Some kids by nature, are shy. Theater classes help them come out of their shell in a safe and nurturing environment.
Students now, more than ever, spend their days communicating through text, messages, and social media. In ShiningStars, we pride our curriculum and lessons to be focused on speaking clearly, projecting voices properly depending on the audience size, making eye contact, and exercise 'full body listening'. Developing these skills gives ShiningStars Charlotte children a tremendous advantage as they prepare for elementary school, and life. These classes also help children suffering from behavior outbursts letting them connect with emotions and an outlet to verbalize feelings. Our verbal exercises can also aid children who are having difficulty with speech, articulation, and clarity.
